Shower Curtain Mod
Ok, first off, let me preface this with the fact that I don't know how to sew, but I now see benefits of being able to, now that we have a TM! So, I decided to try to do it today (I've had a sewing machine forever but was afraid to even try to bust it out). After figuring out how to get the thread in and understanding the parts of the machine, I shortened my IKEA shower curtain and made cuts so that it fit better around the faucet, didn't hang so long and fit better towards the back.
The hemmed edge is definitely not pretty, and I realized that I had no idea how to sew the 90 degree corners, but hey, it's a $10 polyester curtain, so it's good enough! I know it's a bit dumb, but I'm super proud that I was able to customize it for our TM! My boys tried out the shower tonight, and it seemed to keep the water in for the most part (they are 6 and 8, so one of them was able to spray it out of the tub still). And I semi-learned a new skill!

I too use a standard household shower curtain and had a friend shorten it for me. I removed the ceiling track and use a pvc rod for the curtain rod.
I ran a short piece of thin cable on the ends and hook it to the wall with 3M Command hooks. I love it. I use the curtain hooks with bearings on them, works like a champ.

The other mod I did was remove the towel bar. I filled the holes with some tub caulk, and now use the 3M towel bar for my wash cloth. It sits below the walls when they're folded down. I love using the 3M command hooks. They are the easiest to put up and remove when needed. I use the small hooks on my ceiling if I need to run a cord; like a USB charging cord.
When I boon dock without power, I hang my Goal Zero lights from the ceiling and can get the four lamps in the areas that I need by hooking the cord on those ceiling lights. You can also hook those battery powered twinkle lights. It keeps the cords out of the way, but gives you enough light without draining your rig power. I do use the ceiling lights when I need to, but I don't have to worry that I'm draining my batteries too quickly.

I think I'm missing something. It looks like you allow the end walls and back wall of the shower to get wet, and just use the shower curtain to keep water off the bathroom floor. Is that right?

I do, Bill. I wipe it down afterwards. I'll admit when I used it this last trip I started to wonder about the water that can get into the bottom and any other cracks and crevasses, and what damage can be happening. I've been mulling around using some clear bathroom caulk to apply around the base of both the back and hall folding walls. I tried the plastic sheet mod, but hated it. So, I need to come up with other ideas.

I'm impressed that it works. If it had occurred to me to try it, I would have applied a nice thick coat of clear outdoor spar urethane over the wood / fakewood surfaces, and down over any caulking if I thought it would stick. The unpaintable gaps at the edges of the folding panels worry me - perhaps a rubber flap could be arranged to cover them. Given your experience, I still may try it.
Let us know if you have any further developments.

Absolutely, Bill. Sharing ideas on this forum is what it's all about. I do like the spar urethane idea, but how is the smell? I would assume, you need to let it air out till it drys. I'm at the tail end of a kitchen/bath remodel, and my contractor taught me the trick on caulking the base board top edge. All these years, I've been cutting at the first cut mark on the tip. He cuts his where its about a #7mm pencil, and it works so much better. I may use a clear bathroom caulk at the metal edges. Oh, something I saw on This Old House. A gentleman used Gorilla Glue, but he applied it like a wax. Just enough to coat it and he said it seals the wood well and it lasts a long time.

I've made my own shower mod that fits right in with this thread. My 2014 2922KB shower walls seem to be impervious to water, so I protected the hinged areas with a silicone strip product with adhesive on one side. See Amazon ASIN: B07XZ5WY3S. It's a flat silicone ribbon maybe 2" wide with adhesive on one side of the strip. It adheres well to the shower wall and folds/unfolds with the shower walls just fine. I then used the same plastic craft snaps I used to keep the curtains from pulling open on the shower walls and shower curtain. I did this with 3M VHS automotive trim tape.
DW cut and hemmed the curtain to conform to the particulars of the tub and you can draw the curtain around you and snap it to the walls to keep it from sticking to you and to keep the water in the tub. It seems to work well.
Cheers,
Eric
