There should be no need to replace the pivot bolts unless there is a problem with the support arm pocket. I replaced the acorn nuts (and washers) with stainless steel versions this winter. The original acorn nuts and washers were rusting and staining parts of the vinyl flaps. Removing and replacing the bolts should be fairly easy provided the shell is securely supported and you insert a rod to keep things lined up when removing the old bolt and inserting the replacement. I have not met anyone who has replaced the pivot bolts nor I have seen any posts on the subject.
