Question Rust spots on sink in new TM

We have a new 2027 (it may be a 2008 model, can't recall) and we just brought 'her in for a few warranty issues.

The strangest issue we've had is the kitchen sink. It has several small spots that look like rust. When we rub them, the "rust" comes off and there are perhaps some erosion areas underneath? It looks like the metal has been eaten away. We wipe down and dry the sinks with a dishtowel before we close up, so we aren't leaving water drops all over. Aren't these sinks stainless steel?

Our dealer was baffled also and is sending pictures to TM.

We've only ever used bio-friendly dish soap in the sink, and no harsh or scratchy cleaners. We had a stainless sink in our last rig and it was pretty much indestructibe. Anyone else having this issue, and if so, did you find out the cause and/or cure?

We haven't had a problem with our sink. Do a Google search "can a stainless steel sink rust" and check what look like promising leads. Here is a link to one of the sources of information:

Scroll down to find information on rust or stains.

I was surprised at some of the possible causes of rust spots on a stainless steel sink.

Let us know what you find out from the factory. It could be as simple as a defective sink.
