Best website for making state park camping reservation
Hi All,
What would be the best website, or websites, for getting the list of all state parks that have RV campsite so that one can make a reservation?
I used to go to the ReserveAmerica.com website. But I learned that this website does not list all state parks. It has a very few state parks - or may be state parks that it has commission contract with - and a lot of private parks that it apparently has commission contract with.
I always like to stay at state park RV campsite for 2 reason: cheaper and ...wilderness.
Do you have any suggestions/comments?

I would just go to the state government web site, and rummage around until I find something that sounds like State Parks. There is usually a Search box on the web site. If not, you might look for terms like Recreation, Tourism, Visitors, or whatever sounds promising. The reservation system should be in there.
You could probably do it a bit faster by Googling "Arizona state parks", for example - that should get you there, too.
I am not aware of any nationwide site that covers all the state parks - but I could be wrong.

A Question
We've always been confused by campground listings whether state, Federal or private as to stated length of site; do the listings mean trailer length only or trailer plus tow vehicle? We're assuming it's trailer length and if it's a trailer site, there's room for the TV, though not necessarily in front of the trailer.
Case in point; many trailer sites list lengths as 25-35'. Our TM is 26' and our TV is 18' plus another 4' between the TM and the TV for a total of 48'. When the trailer site is listed at 30' is there room for the TV and TM?

Very cool! Thanks! It would be a shame to just look for state parks, especially for those who have the Senior National Parks pass which also gives you 1/2 price for camping in campgrounds in national parks, monuments and national forests.

As others have mentioned, just go to the webslite of the state that interests you, and you'll easily find campgrounds. In MO, you can pick a park, see a campground map. When you pick a site, it will give you the size of the site and even a photograph. Very convenient. National Park sites will give you a campground map, showing shower areas, etc., but no photgraphs of the site itself. Corps of Engineer sites are very nice, also. A Golden Age pass works for these and National Forests CGs. Just enjoy. This will be our 48th camping year. Here we come, Pulltite CG, Ozark National Scenic Riverways! Olga and Ken
