Default Five Photo limit on new thread?

Is there anyway to download more than five photos to a new thread. I want to illustrate how I am adding water and could use more than five shots for this. I suppose I can immediately reply and add more, but ideally would like to have them in the original post. Thanks
Mark

Mark,

As an alternative, you could create an album and add a link in your post.

Here is the link to the "pictures & album" tutorial:

http://www.trailmanorowners.com/foru...ead.php?t=7691

The tutorial contains a link to screen shots that was not working for me. Instead use this link to reach the tutorial screen shots:

The creation of an Album is an excellent approach, and one that is not used often enough. But are you sure there is a limit on the number of pictures in a post? I have some posts that already have seven attached pictures, and if I go back to one of those posts and hit EDIT > GO ADVANCED > MANAGE ATTACHMENTS, it appears ready to add more.

When you click manage attachments there are 5 locations to upload individual files or URLs. I don't think this is a limit though. I think you can upload 5 photos place them in your thread and then go back and select another 5 files to upload and so on.

I tried the album method. When I attached the photos they were huge. How do you reduce the photo size? Also, how do you add thumb nail links?

Here is the tutorial Bill created that describes how to shrink photos for posting either in an album or as thumbnails to posts.

http://www.trailmanorowners.com/foru...ead.php?t=2505

You need to shrink any photos before they are uploaded to the Board (either as part of an album or thumbnail(s)).

Hmm seems guests can't access the albums. I guess I will fork over some cash to be a member since I just acquired a trailmanor

You won't regret it. You'll save WAY more than $12 a year by doing some things yourself. And the more you read about what people do here, the more you'll have confidence to do even major repairs/renovations yourself. Congrats on your new TM! Enjoy!

When you upload a photo, either to a post or to an album, the forum software creates the thumbnail automatically. Don't try to put in your own thumbnail - the forum will display it at the size you provided, rather than the click-to-upsize that you are looking for.
