Default Looking for 2518 or 2619 with front pullout dinette

TRAILMANOR 2518 or 2619 with front pullout dinette wanted

I live in the central interior of British Columbia, Canada; so, I would prefer to find something within 500 miles of Bellingham, WA.

Price: flexible, depending on year/condition. I am interested to run it on electricity as much as possible; so, may be interested in paying less for a unit with a dying propane system/appliances.

I am interested in an awning and rear bike rack receiver and want it to be as light as possible to tow behind a Tesla Model Y.

Just FYI…

I believe the 2619 was only ever offered with a double bed front and rear.

There was also a 2417 for a while that had a king bed out back and was available in all three floorplans. There was also a 2417 Sport (not to be confused with current Sport models) that was a bit narrower and IIRC it didn’t have a bathroom. Just another option for smaller models with front dinette slide layout.

Thanks so much for the information Shane826, very helpful to know!

I am used to tenting, so (although brand new to possible TT camping), I don't think I would miss a bathroom (and the maintenance involved).

I am also 6'3" tall; so, I don't think I can go too narrow,... but a "sport" version might be appealing: I do hope to travel British Columbia dirt roads; so, if the "sport" version is more rough-road durable, that would be a very good thing.
...and I should be able to sleep slightly diagonally in a king bed.

Do you, or anyone, know if the 2417 was built during a period that TM was producing good builds (I remember reading somewhere that quality concerns increased during certain periods of TM history).

This attachment gives you dimensions of the different campers. As you can see the 2417 Sport in 2014 was about 6" narrower. Read the fine print, you either add or subtract depending on the item/option. The info here is based on dry weight, no tanks, water..etc. Does the Tesla have adequate stopping ability in going downhill besides power going uphill?

Thanks for the info and the well-wish Kidkraz!

The Tesla itself weighs 4000lb and is rated to tow 3500 with a tongue weight of 350. I have done one test tow of a 3000lb, 21 ft, full-height travel trailer and it handled it no problem on the highway at 100+ kph (60+ mph) without an equalizer hitch or trailer brakes. I have purchased a brake controller and have confidence in both the vehicle's torque and stopping ability. My interest in a TM and lightness is to minimize wind resistance and maximize range.

The 2417 looks awesome! and the king bed in the "sport" is still 78x72", so plenty of room and depth.

Does anyone know if 2014 was a good year and if the "sport" version is any more durable for dirt roads?

The Sport designation didn't mean it was good for off roading. The Sport was "6” narrower than our other models for easy visibility around small tow vehicles. Optional wet bath with shower or extra storage. That wet bath with shower inside the camper cut the usable space way too much.
As to looking for a version with dying propane. I'd find a good camper, remove the propane tanks, cap the lines correctly, the stove/oven if it has them and maybe the fridge if it's not needed. You would have removed several pounds of weight which would make towing easier. It would be up to you on weather you'd want to store some items in case you decided to sell the camper if you wanted something else. Google should give you some idea of estimate weight for the tanks, stove/oven combo, microwave and fridge. I'd leave the water tank, but leave it empty if you have shower facilities where you camp. I always bring bottled water.

The new 2720 and 2518 Sport are more off-road adept with the bigger lift kit and larger off-road tires abut I wouldn’t exactly call any TrailManor a rock crawler… By off-road I would really mean non-paved roads or maybe a farmers laneway.

I had both a 2417 SPORT, and a 2417KD. Both had wet baths, so they did have toilets. The cassette toilet was no problem to deal with.
I took both of the units off-road, just had to drive sanely and not try to race. I went down (as-in lots of elevation loss) a mile-long rough road, and everyone who came by asked how I got it there. I said "slowly and carefully". When my friends arrived, they were surprised, but knew that I had a capable tow vehicle (Jeep Grand Cherokee) that would crawl down very slowly.
I loved the 2417s that I had. One was a 2011 (first year), the other a 2014. Both were great trailers, with no problems. Only reason we got rid of the Sport was that the regular-width model came out. Only reason I got rid of the 2014 was that the wife wanted a walk-around bed.

It sounds like either 2417 would work great for me and I'm sure I could go either way on the bathroom and would be driving dirt roads (there are lots of long dirt roads in BC).
