Default Goodyear Endurance

I just replaced my 5+ year old Marathons with Goodyear Endurance tires and wanted to share how I saved some $$$. I ordered the tires directly from the Goodyear website. They shipped the tires free to my regular independent tire dealer. There were plenty of shops in my area to choose from. I then spotted a price match guarantee on Goodyear's site and quickly found another site selling them for about $20 less per tire. I jumped on a chat session and gave them the link. A few minutes later they came back with an okay. They just wanted to make sure it was a valid in-stock offer. They didn't even consider the other site's freight charges. We wrote up the whole order in a chat session (including credit card info over a secure message app). Coming directly from the Goodyear warehouse, the tires had 20/17 codes.

Price match + free freight + fresh tires = a win in my book.

I installed them a few months ago. GY had some sale of 10% if I order them and had one of there shops install them. I took the GY sale price to Tire Discount, which want the list price of the GY site. They met the GY sale price of 10% off.

It looks like you got a better deal.

I took them on a few trips, they track very good. With the stiff sidewall that the endurance has there was no wiggle.

I'm getting better at haggling. Businesses are willing to deal. I forgot to mention that Goodyear didn't have three tires in their closest warhouse so they sent them FedEx from out of state. That's customer service.

I just purchased replacement tires for my rig directly from the Goodyear website. It was pretty painless and was able to get a military discount on the tires too. They found me a closer dealer for the installation and even helped set up a time for the replacement of the tires.
The first person I chatted with said I couldn't order RV tires thru the normal website and sent me the link for their RV tires. Well ya can't purchase thru that site so I went back to the original site to order what I wanted. I opened a chat to ask about a military discount and the new person said he could order the tires I wanted and get me a discount too. Other than wrong info from the first person, I got disconnected once during the chat, but overall I am very happy with the whole purchase and process.

I have 5 yr old Marathon China bombs on the TM I just bought and am looking for replacements. I know the GY Endurance are made in the US. What influenced you to get these vs Maxxis? If I get them, I’ll pursue the military discount as well.

2 things.

Primary: Almost any large tire shop across the states have GY endurance in stock. If need a tire on the road, I want it to be available in a reasonable time so i'm not greatly delayed or have to buy a different brand to continue my trip. I replace the problem tire ASAP when traveling.

My tire shop said the information they had on the endurance tries have them believing they are so good that they stopped carrying the two brand of trailer tires they stocked in the past and now only carry the endurance stock.

Glad I replaced my 15 year old tires with endurance tires right after I bought my TM. We traveled 1,500 miles. It went great.

Thanks for this post. I did the same thing and saved over $200 by dealing directly with Goodyear for 3 GY Endurance tires, mounting and balancing. Two separate tire dealers here in Southern MD gave me price quotes of around $550! I found your post and paid $359 plus $8.85 for high pressure truck valve stems.

Last summer I replaced my Marathons with Endurance. I have since driven about 10,000 miles towing my TM. It seems that I lost 3 mpg by going to the Endurance. I always ran the Marathons at 50 psi, and the Endurance I have run at 50 psi for one trip and 55 psi for another. Truck pressure is always 40 psi in the rear and 35 psi in front. While MPGs vary from a whole host of things, my sample of 10k miles should be wide enough. Head winds could account for the loss, but they come and go over long periods. Speed limits vary by state, but I have been making these cross country drives with the TM for 8 years now. Anybody else notice a loss in MPG with Endurance?

Default Goodyear Endurance

I just replaced my 5 year old 15" Gladiator tires with Goodyear Endurance. Tire mech pointed out both Gladiators had splits down inside the tread that I had not seen !!! He also told me Goodyear rotates stock every 3 months ,so all Endurance are recently made. Mine were made 9 Jan 2019. Not cheap, 2 @ $310 total installed, balanced with steel valves. I didn't shop around, went local.
