Default Lift Arm Pocket Cover Delete

I just bought a 2006 2720qb. I've emailed the parts department several times over the last month and have gotten no response (not sure if someone has a trick here). I'm trying to fix a few things on this new to me camper, but one I'm not sure I need to fix is the Pocket covers (those little trapezoid pieces of plastic). Several of mine are broken, one is missing. Do I even need these? I'm thinking of just discarding all of them.

They are largely for appearance, and to keep fingers out of the mechanism as the shells are being raised and lowered. And I suppose they do add some modest protection against having sand and road grime tossed up into the pocket. It is the kind of thing I would fix when I can, but not obsess about. Beware of stray fingers, though. There are some strong forces at play in that area.

Bill,

Thanks so much for your response, that's very helpful.

Do you have any suggestions on the best way to get the attention of the parts department?

I ran my 3326 without them for a few years. Like Bill said, just keep little fingers out of there. It’s a nasty pinch point. If you’re gonna toss them out, save the good ones. They are always in demand. I think the Parts department might be offline on prep for the move.

You could check with CustomRv in southern Ca. They might have some on hand to sell.

If either of you are interested, my son should be able to draft something close to these in CAD and 3D print them in just about any color. He's wanting to earn a few bucks for what are becoming rather expensive toys, so I bet he'd even be eager to do it.
