Default Exterior storage tool box

Have read postings regarding exterior storage boxes to mount on tongue area. Pricewise thought some of them were a little high in the $$$ arena.

Invaribly, I have found myself needing a 'thingie' that unfortunately was placed inside the clamped down TM ... without realizing it.

While in Home Depot today, came across, and purchased, a diamond plate tool box, by Husky ... in their tool area ... that fits absolutely perfect on the front end of a 2720 with the horizonal mounted propane tanks; at least on my 98 model that is. Diamond plate matches the rear bumper storage lid.

Measurements of the box: 24" long; 9.75" deep; 9" high. Price at store locally ... 49.00.

Has 2 locking clasps and comes with interior tray. Perfect for the jack wheel or foot, leveler jack handle ... and other items we need when we initially pull into the parking spot ... and discover the needed item was put inside the unit ... or even in the rear storage ... which can't be accessed because of shell clamping ... or whatever reason.

Only things I had to do was to drill a new mounting hole for the upright bracket that holds the valve for the propane tanks; and run a strip of foam rubber weatherstrip along the edge where the top comes down in order to solidify weather proof; and caulk around the handle holes on the top. Piece of cake.

We saw one there that we thought would even fit our T-105's, but have been so busy lately that our TM projects are on hold. And the price was very reasonable.

Don't you hate it when you want or need something and it's inside the TM? We have a tool box on our truck and now we know what we need to keep inside there vs in the TM, but it took a few trips to figure that out!

Had even asked 'about' for one made by local metalsmiths. Cost of their quote was about the same as the aforementioned pricey ones others have mentioned. Was pleasantly surprised today when came across this one, perfect fit .. and less than 1/3 of the others.

Newbie Question:
Does the horizontal LP mount work for the 06-3023? Is there even a difference except how the unit screws into the frame?
We are looking for the same type of exterior storage unit but our tanks are mounted verticallyand there is no space. Additionally, where is your battery mounted? Ours is on the tounge assembly. Is this a problem?
