Default 2720 front bed sliding during travel.

When I purchased the TM used I noticed that the bed latches made grooves or dents on the walls behind the dinnete cushions. Then shortly after we acquired the TM we realized that the original latched provided were not staying engaged or locked into the pockets allowing the bed to slide front to back. There is also some to side moment built into both beds which also allos the latch to dissinguage from the latch pockets. At the time I went ahead and installed one of those hook latches like the one used on the front door bottom half. I installed it in too front right corner of the refrigerator frame. It's held for the past 15 years well. However it's starting to wear on the frame itself and will soon fail. I am sure someone out there has had to deal woth the same issue and has come up with a better solution.

Any suggestions on what type of hardware should be used here to prevent that movement in the bed during travel? Also how does someone repair these long gouges and dents in the metal side pannel of a TM WITHOUT ot looking like you used patch? I am referring to the metal texture in the pannels themselves. I was thinking I may be able to use similar low friction material similar to the stuff TM uses under the bed as slider tracks? Anyone know what that material is called?
