Default Exterior Door Stability 06 Model 2619

The exterior door of my 2006 Model 2619 works perfectly when the camper is opened and set up. However, I've noted that after the door is opened and closed several times it becomes misaligned and somewhat difficult to close.

In the frame there is a clip into which a pin on the door which snaps into place during setup. It seems that the misalignment occurs as the pin begins to slip forward within the clip. the misalignment can be corrected by reseating the pin into the clip.

Is there a solution to this pesky problem? Assuming the clip has weakened over time, I have considered attempting to squeeze the existing clip with a needle nosed pliers in hope that it will grasp the door pin more tightly. I've also wondered if the worn clip could be replaced with a new one.

If anyone with an older TM has encountered (and conquered this problem) I'd appreciate any advice you can offer.

My pin and clip is not very tight and I'm not having the issue you mentioned. Just wondering if the front shell is not coming to far forward when you rise it into position and the the shell is not in line with the bottom? Over time the two sections work them self lose??

When you pull up the front shell all the way forward does the hole in swing up square tube line with the steel pin and you do not have to push the shell fwd/aft to to fit into the hole. It's normal to push in the side, but you should not need to move the shell fwd or aft.

Bill -

You are right on both counts. You can squeeze the clip to tighten it a bit, or you can replace it with a new one. I've done both. The clip appears in the TM parts catalog as item #22055, Entry Door Spring Clip. As explained in the catalog, you can order it from any parts-stocking dealer (and probably not from the factory). MCD in Hyannis, Mass, is a great stocking dealer, and I'm sure any of the others can help you as well.
