Default What unique Kitchen/Cooking utensil is always in your TM

Not knowing where to start this but thought this cooking section would be a good place...

The one item I make sure is in the camping box is an old Hidden Valley Ranch dressing shaker.
There are many similar types out there for mixing powdered health drinks and such.
I use mine for every mixing task. You can scramble eggs with just a few shakes. Mix your favorite pancake batter, marinade, etc. Is great for instant pudding, mix and pour into cups. Just about anything you could do in a blender that does not require chopping up the ingredients. It seals shut so you can store what you don't use for later. Is easy to clean with a few shakes of soapy water and a rinse.

We have a special ice cube maker that has a screw-on lid so you can make ice cubes on the go and the water won't spill out. We got it at Camping World (saw one today while we were there but can't seem to find one online).

I love our Aeropress coffee maker. It makes great coffee and cleanup is a snap. http://aerobie.com/Products/aeropress_story.htm

Instead of a colander, we have one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/RSVP-Pot-Strai...4941002&sr=1-1 Actually it's not that nice, we bought it at the dollar store, but it stores flat & doesn't take up much room.

I also have two six-section spice dispensers that take up very little room. They were originally filled with cake sprinkles but I took off the lids and use them for spices. They are like this:

It's been fun stocking the TM with fun things to use that don't take up too much room.

Colanders
Found this to be very useful at home so got one for the trailer. Stores pretty flat and the handles adjust in length to straddle the sink. when there is a small amount of dishes to wash I use it as a drain board as well.

Default Swing Away

Swing Away manual can opener.
Amazing how tough a can of Dinty Moore is without an opener. The little device on my Swiss Army knife came through, but I prefer the Swing Away.
Lesson learned.

Wayne - if you got one of these blenders, you wouldn't need the generator at all.

Cobb grill. It is an o.k. grill for steaks, etc. but a superior oven for roasting meats, chicken, etc. using only 6 or so briquettes. We dice potatoes, celery, bell pepper, onion, etc., seal the mixture in foil packs with a little olive oil and spices, and place them in the moat next to the fire chamber. There you have a complete meal without having the oven heat up the TM interior. (The veggie packets usually need to go in before the meat goes on as they take a little longer.) If you spray the bowl and dome with high temperature Pam it cleans up in a jiffy. You can cook on the picnic table - the exterior never gets too warm to move by hand. - camp2canoe

camp2canoe - have you ever cooked anything in that for a long period of time? I like to smoke pork shoulders for 8-12 hrs in my Weber charcoal grill, but using indirect heat -- the charcoal and hickory is not underneath the meat. Think that would be possible using the Cobb grill without scorching the meat?
