Default Prospective buyer

Hi. we are Tom and Judy and are in the process of possibly purchasing a new 2720. My wife is a little skeptical. Up until last year, we had a 1996 Hi-Lo that we towed with our 2001 Toyota Tacoma, V6, 4wd automatic. Only problems we ran into towing it was in the high mountains in Arizona. Chugged a little going up hills. It got totaled last year, so we are "trailerless". What is the general feelings about the Trail Manor line? We would like to know before we make this investment. Also, I am 6'2", 250 pounds. Is the unit roomy? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Tom, I think you will be pleased with towing the TM. I believe it is about 1,000 lbs lighter than your Hi-Lo. A 2720 has a dry wt of 2720 lbs (add more for AC, other options, and you get around 3,000 lbs, or a little more).

I saw where a 22' Hi-Lo weighed about 4,000 lbs. You didn't say how heavy your Hi-Lo was, so I am just guessing at what you towed. That is a shorter unit, when compared to a 2720 set up. Depending on the model you get (if it's just the two of you, I would go with the 2720SL, but that's just my preference), it may have more than enough room.

I tow a 2417 (dry wt 2150 lbs, tows at 3,300 lbs) with my 3.0L diesel. No problem on hills, or (I'll get slammed for this) maintaining 75 on the highway.

Good luck with your purchase! I think you'll love the unit.

Standing at the fridge--bare floor to ceiling--exactly 6' 5", this is the front half of the TM, 7' 4" wide. Standing at the stove (in the rear half 7' wide)--bare floor to ceiling--exactly 6' 3".

Bathroom door entrance, floor to header--5' 7".

At 6' 1", I have to keep my knees and/or neck bent in the shower.

Shower floor to ceiling is exactly 5' 10-1/2", if anybody taller than that can stand up straight in the shower, I wanna know the trick!
