Please Help what is this?
Hello, I recently sold my old 1995 3023 and updated to a 2007 3124. I have two small pieces of metal at the bottom of the upper shell on each side of the shell under the awning . It looks like it might have something to do with the awning, but not with the awning I have which is a fiamma f45. Not sure if I need to leave it or just take it off. Thanks!

That is for the awning. The legs that are tucked inside the end of the awning have a little "foot" that will tuck into that clip that is mounted on the side of the shell that you pictured.
After you extend the awning, you pull out the awning legs and rotate them so they will slip into the clip. To get them into the clip, you lift the movable top bar in the clip, drop the foot into the clip, then let the bar drop onto the foot. This locks the foot in the clip.

Thanks for the info, I thought the awning legs went on the ground, and then were staked to the ground, that's how my old TM was.

I believe they can be staked into the ground. I'm not sure if it would require an adapter or not. We always attach it to the side. If you do, put an orange or yellow noodle around the arms so you don't walk into it all the time like I do!

The manual shows setting up either way but it seems so much sturdier clipping to the wall. Plus you don’t have to worry about someone kicking the legs out from under the awning.

My owners manual for the awning says not to clip the supports into the sides if the awning is extended out more than 3'. It says to stake the supports out vertically, otherwise.
