Default Repair of Damaged Counter Veneer

I just noticed that I have a chip missing from the edge of my counter-top (I doubt it was here when we picked up the trailer). Anyway, does anyone have a suggestion about repair. Although annoying, my primary concern is preventing the damage from spreading. Any carpenters with veneering experience out there ??

I've attached a picture to show the area I'm concerned about.

Thanks, MikeD

Mike, you might consider building up the damaged area with Bondo, sanding it smooth and level with the existing laminate and then applying a faux finish to match its pattern. Alternatively, you could strip the entire laminate facing off and reapply a strip of matching laminate (purchased from the factory) or some color coordinated laminate obtained locally. Neither of these options is extremely difficult.

Larry,

Thanks -- I might give Bondo a try.
