Ya......best to cut it to the exact size you need. Notch the corners of the cloth so that you don't end up with a wad in the corners. I ran mine about 2" up the sides. Lay down one layer and work out the air bubbles with a brush, then lay down the 2nd layer (wet-on-wet).
Be sure to wash the tub out with TSP 1st,
then sand the tub with 100G paper and wipe it out with Acetone. That procedure is critical. If you sand the tub without washing it thoroughly with TSP, you will only sand the soap particles and body oil into the tub surface and cause all kinds of problems.
Mask around the tub, about 4" up and run your resin up to the masking. Sand and paint. You don't need to match the color (2-tone would like great).
