Default Toilet chemicals for recirculating toilet

Just got back from our maiden voyage of our new to us 3023. Rode the Natchez trace from Nashville TN to Natchez MS then spent a week in Lafayette LA. Trailer towed great, averaged 14mpg for the trip down at 50mph. Coming back we had to leave the Trace and take the interstate back through Tuscaloosa because the Trace was pretty blocked from the storm damage. We ended up following the whole path of the storm the day after it hit all the way to Knoxville. Even on the interstate at 70mph we were just under 14mpg, I was surprised. Driving in town and the hills of east TN are the real MPG killer.

We are now planning our next trip for June and the problem is that the chemicals for the toilet will kill a septic system if the tank is dumped into it. Where we are going everyone is on septic. Does anyone have any experience will a chemical that will work in the recirculating toilet and not kill a septic system if it is dumped into it?

The amount of chemical in a TM toilet is very low when compared to the typical septic tank of anywhere from 250 to 1,000 gallons. Back to the old saying THE SOLUTION TO POLLUTION IS DILLUTION.

Remember also that a lot of campgrounds are in the country and operate on septic systems.

Also, some treatments are approved for septic use on the label.

Lastly, SLOW down, there are a ton of posts including my own relate blowouts for speeds over 65 are much more likly.

The only restrictions we've ever encountered when hooking up to a campground sewer system were notices that products containing formaldehyde were not allowed. I believe that the Thetford Campa Chem Natural products are formaldehyde free, this is what we've been using for years.

Camping World seems to have more than one product that is formaldehyde-free:

If in doubt, call the campground to see what their restrictions are.
