Default Newbie -- just purchased 2007 3023

Hi everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself and officially join the family. I bought a used 3023 from MCD Corp on the Cape, and will be picking it up the weekend of the 14th of June. We rented one from them last year and absolutely fell in love. I have been reading your posts and drooling over used TM's ever since.

I have a 2011 Honda Pilot and really wanted a trailer but didn't want to change tow vehicles and this is just perfect for us. I am a single mother of 3 beautiful daughters, and we plan on doing a LOT of camping this summer (and, well, forever ).

I'm very excited and can't wait to pick it up! MCD has been awesome to deal with and are going to have it all set up for us to stay in on the 14th so they can work on the Honda on the morning of the 15th to get it tow ready (hitch, brake controller, etc.).

So I will probably have lots of questions and just wanted to introduce myself.

Hello and welcome. We are new (to us) owners also, we bought a 2619 which we have taken on two trips so far and enjoyed very much. You were wise to buy a larger model...when we bought ours, I thought it was roomy, but after a couple of trips I've learned, the space goes fast !

Courtney, welcome. I got my new 2720 from MCD 4 yrs ago and have been loving it ever sense. We were out in your neck of the woods at Sodom Mountain campground this past weekend. Cold and rainy for most of it but we were dry in our TM. Felt bad for those people in tents, been there, done that. May be we will see you on the road someday.

Default Newbie Too

Hey, you sound like you are in a similar situation as me. I wanted a camper but didn't want to buy a new vehicle just to be able to tow something....that's when i saw the Trailmanor campers at an RV show and I knew that this camper was The One.

After looking for about 5 months, the dealership here in Colorado Springs got a used camper in exactly what I was looking for...I jumped on it immediately and it was ours. So today, a week later, we went down and spent 4 hours learning every in and out of our new (new to us) 2008 3124KB and I already love it. I pulled it home with my 2004 Honda Pilot after getting a pretty beefy hitch, brake controller put on. My Honda pulled it great and stopped it even better...I had absolutely no problems.

All in all I just wanted to say hi to another newbie and I hope you love your new camper as much as I love mine. Congratulations and welcome.

Congrats Courtney! A 3023 sounds like a good fit for your family.
Before taking delivery in a couple weeks, have they:

- repacked the wheel bearings?
- adjusted the lift's torsion bars?
- checked/adjusted brakes?
- checked for water leaks?
- checked/replaced the battery?
- checked the age of the tires for you (DOT 4 digit code on sidewall)?
- done a full systems checkout?

Some things may be "as is", but everything is negotiable until they get your money. Sounds like a good reputable place from reading the posts.
Anyhow, now is the time to bring all this up, before you sign on the dotted line... Enjoy!
