Smile A/C thermostat

We seldom use our AC, but in the recent hot weather in the East we needed it.
We found that the compressor runs continuously. There seems to be no controlling of the temperature. The dial is just red/blue and inbetween. No matter where we set it, it was just cold. At least it worked. Any suggestions on how to regulate it?

If changing the temperature dial does not result in the compressor cycling, then the thermostat is bad. I ordered a new one through a local RV dealer a couple of years ago. Have the a/c make and model info found in the owners manual, and you can buy one that way, or probably through online sources.

The fan runs continuously, but the compressor should not. Are you sure it was the compressor?

If it was cold then the compressor was engaged

I had a similar problem a few months ago. I ordered a replacement thermostat and put it in myself without problem - just remember which screws and which wires go where. Works better than ever! I think I posted the details of where the part came from, etc., when I did the work.
