Default New Trail manor owners...

Well, thanks to all that responded to my original thread in the "prespective buyers" area.
We have put a down payment on a 1999 2619 amd will be picking it up later this week. We got it for $5999, plus the taxes and fees. They are going to go over it and make sure everything it up to par since it was an auction purchase. Looks a little worn, not taken care of the best, but I can do the cleaning and small repairs and new flooring that is needed( torn linoleum). I think we did well. The sales lady said she actually had a guy email her and then call her as he wanted to put a deposit over the phone for it....he was from Florida, the camper was in Indiana. He said "guess I will call back on tues ( close Sun/mon) cause nobody will buy it in the last hour....WE DID!!!! Sorry if your out here! So they are to check all systems over, leak check the propane, fix some small things.....this is the first one they have ever had on their lot so it was new to them too. So hopefully I can post a couple pics later this week when I get it home....just in time to take it on our week long Myrtle Beach camping trip. Thank goodness we don't have to sleep in that 8" box popup with no air

I have to get the brake controller wires up, new wire connection hooked up, and dig up a WDH this week. I know I will need done, that Blazer's butt will be draggin the ground. I have a friend who owns a utility trailer shop so hopefully he can get me set up!!

SO thanks to everyone for the words and the wonderful site full of info!!!

Those of us who come from the world of tent traillers, I think, appreciate the comforts of the TM the most. Enjoy your new toy!

Default New To You 2619

Congratulations - Sounds like you made yourself a good deal! It's easy to do a new floor, and it will make a big difference in overall appearance.

From your description, it sounds as if the dealer selling the TM doesn't have much experience with TM's - they are indeed different than most TTs. Even though it's new to you, you'll probably know as much as the dealer, after having read this forum for a while. I'd be surprised if they'll be able to answer the many questions you'll no doubt have. I'd suggest you continue to use this board to clear up questions might have. There are of lot of knowledgable people here. I've found this forum to be very informative and well worth the $12/year.

Just take your time, and check all the systems. Pay particular attention to that refrigerator. If dealer has not already done so, turn the refrigerator on first. It takes a while to start cooling.

Congrats on your new purchase. I'm sure you will love your new TM. We were one of the ones upgrading from a pop-up. One of the best decisions We've ever made.
